Why We’re Running:
-
We are independent thinkers, accomplished professionals and engaged parents.
-
The Board of Education needs FRESH LEADERSHIP.
-
Westport public schools are still among the best–but we cannot take this for granted.
-
The board needs members who actually have children in our schools!
-
We offer unity, a constructive approach, and a commitment to focus on what matters most.
Our Top Priorities:
-
Academic Excellence: Keeping the focus on developing fundamental skills, critical thinking, adapting to change, and driving strong graduation outcomes.
-
Smart Budgeting: Westport schools spend over $150 million per year, more than 60% of the town budget. Families and taxpayers deserve transparency, efficiency and intelligent resource allocation.
-
Real Oversight: Board members should be independent-minded, outspoken and solution-oriented—not a rubber stamp.
-
Safe, Modern Schools: We need top-quality facilities that keep pace with student needs and technological shifts.
Why It's Time for a Change:
-
Westport schools are strong—a crown jewel of the town. But that success is fragile. The current Board has become fractured, ineffective and distracted. We need better governance.
-
NOT ONE of the current incumbents who may be on the board in the next term (except Vice Chair Dorie Hordon) will have children enrolled in Westport Public Schools.
-
Our families have 8 enrolled WPS students + 4 graduates. We know our schools and are personally invested in their success!
